CLOUD COMPUTING WITH Wikis January 24th and 25th
(We recommend attending both sessions!)
Bring your classroom into the 21st century by encouraging critical thinking and real world communication with wikis! This two day workshop will allow you to build an interactive classroom website. Put all lessons and units in the cloud for easy access by parents and students! Create student-centered learning with wikis as a collaborative and cooperative tool where students can share web pages, embed images & video, and post documents. With an online wiki workspace, students are engaged outside the classroom, parents remain involved, and school resources are always accessible. The workshop is also designed to allow teachers who are new to technology implementation consider how the technology may increase student engagement and participation. PLEASE BRING ANY MATERIALS ON FLASH DRIVES YOU WOULD LIKE TO LOAD INTO THE CLOUD!

Podcasting involves the online publication of digital files that can be uploaded to the internet and to which others can subscribe. Podcasting offers educators and students opportunities for their voices to be heard in their own classroom or around the world! Podcasts provide a medium for student expression, news, interviews, and other important lessons specific to the student's own school. MovieMaker 5-15-12
Start making movies on the computer using Windows Movie Maker software and your Flip camera! Movie Maker allows the user to create effects, transitions, title/credits, audio track and timeline narration for imported videos and pictures. Movies can be created in three easy steps - Capture Video, Edit Movie, and Finish Movie. There's also a tips section in Movie Maker that includes - How to capture video, How to edit clips, How to add titles, effects/transitions, and how to save and share movies.
